Meet the founder
Professor Dr. Harald Bauder is a distinguished academic and the founder of the Cape Town English Institute. He is a Professor in the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies at Toronto Metropolitan University in Canada and an Extraordinary Professor at the University of the Western Cape.
With extensive experience in international education, migration studies, and cross-cultural communication, Professor Bauder brings a truly global perspective to English language education. Shaped by his own international journey, growing up in Germany, studying in the United States and Canada, and leading research projects worldwide, his work reflects a deep commitment to empowering individuals through language. Professor Bauder is passionate about constantly researching English teaching methodologies whilst ensuring that our curriculum is constantly reviewed and updated in order to offer our students world class teaching methodologies and quality content.
